Last night just prior to parking my '06 in the garage I had run the car really hard. This morning when I fired up the car I had a slight black puff of smoke come from the back of the car? It cleared up very quickly. After the car ran for a few minutes I did check the oil and I was good. I would rather play it safe and ask the question than not ask and regret later.

So could this puff of black smoke be just some left over ???? from driving the car hard last night?

The puff of black smoke indicated an excessively rich condition for a brief moment. Did the car start normally otherwise? If it doesn't do it all the time, I wouldn't worry about it.
