Damn good question, mine was a old Nova that had more rust on it than you could imagine! I had no floor boards! Rusted out! It took forever to get over but she did it, that car was barely safe to do 55 let alone 100mph. Things you do when you are young!

First time over 100? Anything goes here? Hmmm I would have to say in a Cessna 172 getting my pilots license way back ago!

Now if you only talking about cars I would say a 1974 Fiat X19!

LOL My first trip over 100 was in my first car. A 1972 Olds Cutlass "S" with a *very* worn out suspension. That thing would flooooaaaattttt sooo bad over 100. :willy_nilly: Buried the speedo a few times as well. I'm actually (still) surprised I didn't kill myself in it :thud: for all the stupid things I did with it/in it.

LOL I'll jump on this one, first time over 100 was in a 1981 Nasty Orange Ford Mustang 4 cylinder LX. Whats funny is that I had a Fiat that had a similar bolt pattern on a set of chrome rims that I wanted on the Mustang... so I drilled the holes out on the rims so that it would fit on the Mustang, when you get over 50 you could feel a horrible vibration, buy the time you hit 85-100+ the car is vibrating so bad!

Well i was 15 and bought a 65 Chevy impala. Its has 308's and a 2 spd powerglide. The first trip on the highway was 120mph. At that age i thought i had 8000hp and a 4 sec 1/4 mile car:lol: .Plus i remember shaking after that trip. I still have that car to and race it at my local track. I'm thinking about selling it and building a vette to race. So i'm keeping my eyes open for a cheap C3 or C4 to build.

Hey Doug how are you? I will be contacting you in the next couple weeks as I have just done a few things to the Vette that requires a little bit of tunning!! I also have to get with Al about his Vacuum set up. Now to the post question, I first went over 100 in a 1978 Chevy Nova with a striaght 6 in it. This was quite hairy with the fact that the rear shocks were rusted all the way through the trunk so I took wire and wired the shocks together so that they wouldn't fall out of the holes and get jammed between the tires!

Embarrased to say it was a friends mothers big *** station wagon. Hell I have no idea what that thing was? The speedo only went up to 85 but that thing was buried. It also took nearly 50 miles of highway to get it up to that speed I might add also!

Geess we are really dating one here, I'm going to say if I remember correctly it was a old Buick my high school friend had built up and drove out to California for military. I had came out to California to visit and we ended racing up the coast with some of military friends to another bar (we where young and dumb) and that Buick screemed by everyone and we estimated easy over 120 MPH that day.

Well hell, now you have me searching around for the old photo books, recalling old times! :smack:

First post on this list, so I am still learning, but, don't you mean, 200 mph; and it was my modified C5 with a clutch that couldn't hold the power? If I could ask a question, what 295 ZR's are the best bite? I would like to break 0-60 in under 3.3, but can't hook up very well in 1st and 2nd?

My buddy had a late 70 station wagon that we ran all the time in high school. Would take you past 100 mark if you had a long road. We carried gallons of oil everywhere we went. Smoked like hell and we were drinking like hell. Somebody upstairs had to be watching over US back then. Ronnie was in a car wreck his Jr year .Thought he would never walk again. Looking back I think it woke us both up.

Buddy of mine let me behind the wheel of his 79 trans am back in high school. We got on the interstate at about 2:00am and hit 120mph and got a ticket by state trooper. Got in a shitload of trouble with parents, but when Mom wasn't around, dad wanted to know if we had fun and how fast we were going. The things we do when we are young and stupid. Now I'm older and stupid.:burnout:

1966 Corvair Corsa, at about 110 the front end seemed to want to rise and oscillate, of course being young and dumb and scared shi*less didn't have anything to do with it. It had a 140 mph speedometer, but it ran out of oomph about 118 or so. This was the model with a 6 cylinder and 4 single barrel holleys.

863The first time I went over 100mph, I was in my boyfriend's '81 Z28. This car was gorgeous!!! We were driving on Alligator Alley in the Florida Everglades and he dared me to punch it, so of course, I did. I kept the pedal to the floor well after the speedo had been buried!! God I loved that car. Good Times....Good Times
