I just put this stuff in my 2001 Vette yesterday and was curious am I the only one using this? Is it good to put into older cars including Vettes?

Thats a great question, I can't imagine it would do any harm. Slick 50 has been around for long time, I know they use to advertise for high mileage cars this oil treatment helps the duration of the motor? Hopefully someone more knowageable on this one chims in here!

Is'nt that stuff just a cover up for the problem? I mean correct me if I am wrong but that is what I have always thought of that stuff!

Never used it in my car, but I gained 250 rpm in my 350 cu. boat
engine.

It has a graphite base to it. Not a fan of that kind of additive really. If you want something in it use Lucas with your oil changes. Its also been around for some time and is great. Used to use it in commercial diesels years ago. Helps against breakdown pretty well without using graphite.

I know a lot of guys that use oil additives like Slick 50, Lucas, Moreys, and STP. Never been crazy about any of them myself. I always felt if you have to add additives to your oil then maybe you need to switch brands of oil. The only time I ever add anything to my oil is when buying a used vehicle and not knowing what kind of oil it had in it or how often it was changed I will change the oil and add 1 to 2 quarts of Marvel Mystery Oil. Run it maybe 1500 miles then change it again.

I only run Mobil 1 with no additives as recommended by the GM.

I figure after 200,000 miles on the odometer, I'll either be dead or looking for a newer Vette model.

:iagree: Run what GM recommends unless some hard core facts show other wise.
