What can be done to cut down on some of the road noise in these cars? Is it possible?

I did the Frost King mod, helped with the noise and the heat out of the tunnel.

Damn Tstart you went to town on that! How did it work, did you notice a sound decrease from the outside? How much weight you think was added from this stuff? Its pretty heavy?

I went through almot 5 rolls and I'd say each roll is about 2 to 3 pounds, not much. It helped some with noise, ALOT with heat. I'm going to stuff the rear fender wells with insulation and also stuff some in front of the gas tanks in the spring.

Most of the noise is tire noise (except for my exhaust!), I'm still running run craps.

I replaced my Goodyears with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport ZP's. Not only did the car handle better, but the noise was significantly reduced. Then I went the sound insulation route like tstar above and now she's actually pretty quiet. It looks like a lot of work tearing the complete interior out, but once you get started, it's really not so bad. It's well worth the effort anyway.

I've heard those Pilots are a much better tire, actually aren't those on back order right now? I thought I remember reading something on that.

Whats your investment on the Frost King and is the same as Dynomat?

14 bucks a roll so like $70.00 or so. It isn't quite as effective at sound deadening as Dynomat but is effective against heat unlke Dynomat. And it cost a helluva less!

Did it really make that big of difference in noise reduction worth pulling the entire interior out of car? Seems like alot of work?

Well I did wanted to gut it and really clean the car out well so that wasn't a big deal to add the deadning also.

It did cut down on alot of noise (the only thing I hear now is Tire noise) as a matter of fact right after doing it I remember hearing my keys jingling together and thinking "well, I never heard that before!". It totally eliminated all heat coming from the tunnel between the seats, that was a big one! The car also feels more solid for some reason. Overall it was definitely worth it FOR ME, for the heat reduction if nothing else, everyone's different... Dynomat is like $350.00 to do the C5, pre-cut kits are even more.

I haven't done the doors yet nor the rear wheel well linings... but I'm stilling running stock tires so I'm not hoping for much there.

Biggest improvement I saw was getting rid of the run flat tires and changing to BFGoodrich G Force-major improvement in ride and noise!

It really wasn't that bad. eight bolts and the seats were out, then it's just pulling carpet to do what needs done for sound deadening. I really went after heat in the front, that's why it was totally tore apart there.

I have a set of Pilot Sport ZP's on my ride, if I go completly away from the Run Flats will I get even less nosie?
