The best thing you can do is keep a Metal polish around that is made for this kind of work. You can use it to keep up with the cleaning. Example...Our Heavy Metal Polish. This polish will restore the original shine and luster fast and easy, giving you the results others only dream about. It will safely clean, polish and protect chrome, copper, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel surfaces. Plus, will cut through brake dust, oil deposits, and other dulling elements without scratching. It will even remove stubborn water spots when applied by hand, producing an amazing reflective mirror-like shine every time.

Good rule of thumb...apply a Sealant to the surface when you are finished. This will help repel a lot of out door elements.
