That part is an intigral part of the column. It is not very hard to r/r if you have the right tools and a little experience. The hard part is going to be finding the right part. I would have to spend a couple of hours digging through the parts catalog. It also appears that yours is a little different than i am used to, so would need to verify application. What year is your's? Also need if standard or auto, and??? not sure what other details.
Try to explain more details of your car and i will look for my YY catalog.

I can't tell from your picture if you have broken the switch or not, but it is probable that it is also. The switch # 26035239 is probably still available from GM.
The pivot and pin need replaced. They are numbers 7829787 (pin) and 7841314 (pivot) and might not be available??? You might be able to reuse the pin if you are careful and good with stuff like that.

You need to pull the steering wheel, after the horn(and contacts with spring) and the cam for the telescopic wheel. To reinstall the wheel you will need to fbricate a bolt-tool to keep it extended. Take the star screw down to hardware store and find a bolt with same threads...grind the head down to a square that is slightly smaller diameter that the threads. If you can't make that do not pull the wheel!
You will need a puller for the wheel and a lock-plate depressor. Use those now...if you don't know how and why you probably should hire out this job.
Carefully remove the buzzer switch and lock cylinder. remove the screw from the signal arm to switch and see what all comes off. This is where you will have to see what all was broken and if you will be able to remove the pin and pivot to gett everything back in. I don't have set instructions since each break is likely to be different. If the shaft will not press into the pivot then you will have to replace the arm as well.
I am sorry that i can't get better instruction but is something i would have to show you while doing and might need to change a lot depending on the break.
Replacing the turn switch is a real pita to get the conector to slide up and out of the column and to get the new one in from there also. If you can't slide it in and out then you will be forced to remove a lot more that i just don't feel comfortable explaining via internet to some-one who isn't very experienced in doing this kind of work since it can create some safty issues.
Good luck.
It sounds like you need to work on getting in and out of the car more carefully due to the limitted space.

NO. That switch looks similar but WILL NOT work.
You are not going to find these parts at your usual parts houses. They will only be available through a GM dealer's parts counter. There are a couple that are online but i don't know if those numbers are still good. Only a dealership would have the revised numbers if they have been changed since my YY catalog was published in 93.
Now i think that Zip, Eckler's and Corvette Central should carry the switch (it is similar to the one in that thread) and maybe the replacement lever, but i would be shocked half to death if they have the pin and pivot peices.

He needs part # GRT1314 more than any thing else. I couldn't find the lock pin. The lever is ,most likely, still reusable. Getting to it and repairing should be about 1 to 1 1/2 shop hours. Depending on what all was broken. If the turn signal cam was broken it could be 3 hours.

Not sure about the 87, on my 91 the turnsignal stalk snaps into the wiper switch, which pivots to control the hi-low beams. It's not a fun job to change.

Yeah....I was affraid of that. You may have to start looking at bone-yards. The 84-87 Fiero used one that is so d@mn close that it will work but slightly change the angle on the arm after it is in. You might check the Fiero store online...they carry a lot of used parts.

This may sound like a joke but go to a hardware store and purchase "Gorilla Glue" . Works way better than super glue. This would be a temp fix until you find the right part. Might be good forever. Try it and give reply as to fix or not.

He is in the sametime zone we are. Try him 9-4 on weekdays. He parts out C4s and older Camaros for a living so he might have what you need. If not I agree with Scott, try gluing it as long as you can somehow clamp it together while the glue sets it might work. It can't hurt to try, right?
