I made the leap a few days ago and opened a Pfadt Race Engineering Twitter account :thumbsup3:

I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical at first, but it turns out that it is pretty cool. I thought it was only for following the daily Hollywood gossip (it might be nice to know what Megan Fox is up to today ), but little did I know there are some useful things out there that people 'tweet' about.

Anyhow, you can now follow all of the cool stuff that we are working on on a daily basis with our Twitters (is that the right word?). Our staff here is always test fitting, testing, getting cool bits off of a machine or even just talking to people about cool projects. We will now be posting that cool stuff, photos and thoughts on our Twitter account. It will help you stay on top of new things that we are working on and the general daily things that we do here at our company.

We'll certainly be updating from the track at races (we're running Miller Outer Loop this weekend) so sign up and keep up to date on all of our activities.

Try it out, I think you'll be as surprised as I was.

While I am a very "tech" person, I see value in this for what you are doing, but be cautious that you don't become a slave to these social networks. We've had to block Twitter and FaceBook in our office because of the enormous amount of wasted time (conservative estimate was 25%).

We don't need to know when you hit the crapper. :sm_party:

Fair enough :). We are always out at the track doing cool things and have cool photos. We figure this will be a nice way to keep people involved. I'll keep the bathroom trips to myself.

I work tech in a law firm and our employment law department primarily defends employers.

In general, employees are stupid. They invite their bosses as friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc. and then they post duragatory and incriminating comments. And then there are your "friends" who post pictures of you flashing someone in a bar but then sue for sexual harassment when your boss comments on your hooters.

Facebook is a goldmine for the legal community, debt collectors, potential employers, etc.

Be careful what you post (even in a forum like this).

Like a gun, technology is as good as the handler.

I'm not intending to swear you off of these things, you just need to be aware of the downside and remember you are responsible for what you post.
