Just noticed it the other day, it is small right now but I have heard that once they start that it won't take long for them to grow. I need an inexpensive fix for this. :willy_nilly:

They make a cover for your dash called a dash cap sold at the major corvette retailers such as ecklers, mid america, corvette central.... I bought one off of ebay my 85 dash has cracks to. It looks pretty good, not as soft as original but covers up nice.

I agree. Unless you feel like replacing your expensive dash, these dash covers are the way to go. They fit nicely and look pretty darned good.

That is good to know that those things actually fit and look decent, I know I will need one soon!

You could opt to recover it yourself like i did here, http://todd-vette.tripod.com/mycarpics/index.album/4x6-kappa?i=22
But it is a very time consuming and messy job. I never could find a good way to cut and fold the vinyl around the vent opening so i made a cover from 1/4inch plexiglass and covered that with speaker cloth. The speaker covers were a VERY tight fit that i was begining to think might not go back in.

If you take some time and look around, you can find some pretty nice looking dash covers out there. I understand that some companies can color match them to your interior also good luck!

Because of the extreme angle of the C4 windshield you should stay away from any lighter or bright colors. The reflection could get you killed.
Dark grey, dark blue or black in a matt (non shiny) finnish are about your only safe options.
Even the the flat black from the 3-d emblems on mine creates a ghost image in the windshield at night from street lights at night and certain angles of the sun. If it were any worse it would be an extreme hazard to driving.

I just have one of those cheap carpet things protecting it. If I go to events I'll take it out but for regular driving it stays in.
