Well to start off I know that LT1 and LS1 etc. are just the RPO for the cars engine, but I'm curious as to why they don't use all the numbers? Like in the C4, why did the ZR-1s and special '96s get LT5s and LT4s? Why was there no LT2 or 3? Same with the LS series? No LS5 or 8? What's the reason if there is one or do they just like the sound of certain numbers better? Or the other possibility (in my mind) is do they leave numbers open for future use, like how the base C6s use LS2 and 3s? Maybe I'm just confusing myself now, I don't know, someone please explain lol?

Maybe it for the same reason there's a product called Preparation H. Preparation A-G just didn't work out. :smilielol5:

Not 100% sure why GM labels engines the way they do but all engines start with an L as their RPO code.
Transmissions start with M (M12)
Gear ratios start with G (GU6)
