Any of you bring your Corvette to a automatic car wash? I saw a blue C4 go threw one yesterday, older Corvette or not I felt bad for the poor car. Personally I would never bring any of my cars into one of those.

From my 2008 "Getting to Know Your Corvette" Manual:

Car Wash Guidelines:
Automatic car washes are not
recommended. Some automatic car
washes will cause damage to your
vehicle, wheels, or convertible top, if
equipped.
If you drive your vehicle through an
automatic car wash that does not have
enough clearance for the undercarriage
and/or wide rear tires, you could
damage your vehicle. Verify with the
manager of the car wash that your
vehicle will fit before entering the car
wash. To avoid possible damage, use
touchless automatic car washes.
See Section 5 of your Owner Manual

That about covers it!

C6's are way to low anyway. The bottom end would be torn off the car. We'll depending on the car wash. Personally no way for me!

I wouldn't take any of my cars through an automatic car wash. I wouldn't even let most people wash my cars my hand.

I own a M5 Laserwash "Touch free Automatic", I would take my corvette threw a touchfree automatic but not a regular brisle wash, there is a lot of difference in a touchfree and a automatic wash, the touchfree laserwash does'nt touch your vehicles surface and does a great job washing, but not thing beats a hand wash using the two bucket method with grit guards!

I ALWAYS make time. My family swears that I'm going to wash the paint off of it!

C4 might be able to get away with it because of how high it is off the ground, C6's you can't way to low to the ground. Plus I wouldn't bring my car or any car into automatic car was.

Don't know of any car wash that isn't going to leave some light scratches. Definitely not worth it!!
