Hi, I am new to the site, just bought a 2001 C5 Convertible - yellow. The car has 39,000 miles and is in great shape. I just noticed there is a stress crack in the drivers side door area near where the upper hinge is bolted to the door. Has anyone experienced this and what did you do to fix? Thanks

Either replace the door or f it is not creating any trouble you can use sticker to hide it.

The crack is not visible till the door is open, and it is beginning to cause some trouble with the structural integrity of the door. I was questioning wheter normal fiberglass mat and resin would bond to the inside of the door to repair the crack.

The door does not need to be replaced. I will post a picture to help clarify. A repair from the inside will work with fiberglass I think. I was just curious to see if anyone else has ran into this issue.

Sounds to me like someone was sitting on or leaning on the open door at some time ,im sure this could be fixed without replacement, of course depending on how bad the crack is

Nathan PM smokinvette2 so he can get you to be able to post pics. You need 10 posts to do that, I want to see exactly what you are talking about. It sounds kinda like what my friend went through last year but I want to make sure!:cheers:
