Now going into the last week of July (and not having my manifold yet), I'm wondering what the latest progress is of the Renegade intake manifold. I have a gut feeling we won't be seeing any Renegades cast until at least early September. But I'd rather wait a little longer and get a good quality manifold than get one with any casting issues. I wonder how much different their castings will be from the original welded-up hand made prototype? They no doubt saw a few areas where they could improve on the original design.

I really appreciate the fact that DCS is doing this for us Crossfire owners.

Is the 40 hp gain was that at the top end ? Did you lose low end torque? Is it still a 350? Was that 40 hp with other mods or just the x-ram? What kind of a torque and HP curve do you have now? Is it something like a tpi or carb?

Dyno was with Xram on a stock crossfire bottom end almost 3 years ago now. As stated in the past. 207.7 rwhp. Do the math and you and figure out the gain for yourself.

You have a Xram to right? Go get in on a dyno!!
See what you have before you change over then do it again with that. Each engine will act differently with different upgrades. No two are going to be identical.

Talk it up with the (tire shredding)...33hp gain.....prove it first!

I've shown a larger gain and have already proved it. 40 hp gain at the wheels... so what should I call that .... Ripping out the rearend hp?:rockon6rk:

Am I sayin the Xram is the best way. NOT AT ALL!

I think SLRVette's point is:
1. You CAN'T get one
2. While you pontificate about an intake that is non-existant....HE (and others) are actually running 1/4 mile times that you can only dream about.

I knew you would get it....as well as others!

The R talk has gotten old. Most manufactures post results, dyno's,pictures of there products on there website.

We see post after post about it, but does anyone have one yet? How about we not post until someone actually has it. instead of making up information about the product or even posting how do I install it? WTF... how can that question even be answered?
I have requested a dyno of the "R" manifold on two different sites. Even the manufacturer hasn't posted a dyno sheet of it. They obviously have there reasons.

So if you need to brag about a tire shredding gain of 33 rwhp on here say only....

Sorry I have you beat 40rwhp here:burnout: ... and yes I do have the dyno sheet and have posted it before.... so you can use the search feature... otherwise I won't repost it until I see a dyno of the renagade.

I gather I am 85L98-84L83's "sidekick" now? Other than the fact I ordered a Renegade sight unseen like he did, we're not sidekicks. And I've never made any claims about anything. I'm just hoping their castings will match the performance of their hand made welded-up prototype. Even if it falls a bit short of their expectations, it will certainly outflow even the best of the ported Crossfires. Once I get it on my engine, I'll let you all know how it performed as compared to my siamesed manifold. As I don't have access to any dragstrip, all I can do is some stopwatch timed 60 mph to 100 mph roll ons. Or some stopwatch timed 0-60's. As 0-60's are awfully hard on the drivetrain, I think I'll do the 60 mph to 100 mph roll ons.

Ever since DCS announced they were going to make a high performance replacement intake manifold to replace the lousy Crossfire, I have been very excited. I ordered one within 2 days of their announcement (I'm #7 on their list). Now I'm just impatiently waiting for them to start casting them. Once I get it installed, I'll play around with my fuel pressure and then call it quits.

Posts you've written, including this one, make you a co conspirator and "sidekick" in the dissemination of ridiculous, unfounded, claims for something that doesn't exist.

REALLY???

Even if it falls a bit short of their expectations, it will certainly outflow even the best of the ported Crossfires.
That sure looks like a claim, to me. Have you tested ALL of the home (or elsewhere) ported Crossfires? Have you tested a Renegade? That statement sure makes THIS statement "I've never made any claims about anything." make you look as bad as your non comprehending "sidekick".

As I don't have access to any dragstrip, all I can do is some stopwatch timed 60 mph to 100 mph roll ons.
What does "access to any dragstrip" mean? Who in the US doesn't have a dragstrip within driving range, especially in California? I have raced in California, accessing the tracks from here.

Yes it exists, they made one and tested it and DCS claimes on a stock 82 vette they had 33 rear wheel hp and 16 lb/ft of torque over a stock crossfire. The intake manifolds are being made and they will be ready in August, some of us have already bought one in a preorder. It is a bit of a risk without someone else running it on a dyno to compare numbers but it is only $460. I just wanted to see it get made and I threw my money in to help the process along. It would have been cool if edelbrock or some other big company would of fronted the money and built them and tested them in some magazines. But with a crossfire there isn't many options. With porting your stock crossfire it seems to be hit and miss. Some guys do it right and get good results like CFI-EFI and others get poor results, they lose bottem end and not much gain on the top end. It should be done and sent out to us shortly and we will install and see what it does, hoping for good bottem end and hoping it adds top end. I have pictures of it but was told to hold of until it is made. It looks impressive, the runners look like the ones on the new cross ram for the LSx engines with a crossfire lid over top. The runners are tapered to help compress the air for more torque. Hoping it will give my crossfire a little more:burnout: .

OK, thanks for the response. I checked out their website and it all seemed to be just too ambiguous. But you bring up a good point, why hasn't someone like Edelbrock jumped on board? I can only guess that the Crossfire doesn't have a "big enough following" for them to deem it cost effective to mass produce something like that. And we should probably be thankful for that, a big name company might slap an extra "premium" on those intakes in the name of "tooling expenses".

It's interesting reading about it but I'm nothing more than curious, I have every intention of leaving my 84 bone stock, I don't need tons of HP and Torque to enjoy my new toy!

Make sure you post plenty of pictures and results once you got everything buttoned up and fired up. I'm very interested in the results - whatever they may be.

You have a nice looking 84, My 84 is the same color. It amazes me how many bronze 84 corvettes are on these forums. It is one color you either love or hate and most people like the color. Every chick that has seen mine bronze vette loves the color and it matches the interior perfect.

The short answer is, NO. Someday maybe, but not as this is written.

I'm new here and I'm honestly trying to figure who's full of BS and who's on the up and up!
Do a little research and read posts from the various parties. I think you will be able to make the correct judgment on "who's full of BS and who's on the up and up!". A rare, isolated, rational, post is not a true indication.

Yes it exists, they made one and tested it and DCS claimes on a stock 82 vette they had 33 rear wheel hp and 16 lb/ft of torque over a stock crossfire.
If that is the case why have YOU posted so many different and unsupported "claimes" (sic) for the MMM?

Some guys do it right and get good results like CFI-EFI and others get poor results, they lose bottem end and not much gain on the top end.
REALLY??? Nice try. According to posts by you, my results are impossible. You have said I am a liar and a cheat. You have said my performance is only possible by using N2O. You have stated that what doesn't exist will run circles around my home ported intake that I have been enjoying for many years, now, for WAAAY less than $460.00.

I'd like to know what camera takes pictures of what "will be ready in August", or "should be done and sent out to us shortly". Is this more idle, made up fiction, like so many of your posts?

Until it is made... So at this point it does not exist, so NO true comparisons can be made.
Furthermore, from everything I've read on the website and CFI site no pictures have been taken. Last I new how can a picture be taken of something that isn't even produced yet?
