I want to install front disc brakes on my 63 coupe using all Vette parts. I'd also want to use a dual master cylinder. My questions are
1 Is the 67 master cylinder single piston or separate pisitons
2 Would you use stock 65-67 calipers
3 Would the rear brake line size have to be changed
4 Would I need a residual pressure valve in the rear brake line
5 I have a set of 68 spindles, will they work
I'm new to this site so try to and computers so bare with me

Thanx, looking forward to your help.

here is my .02
1) 1967 had two master cylinders. I recommend using a master cylinder off of a 1977-1982 C3 or Use the Power Brake Cylinder off a heavy duty suspension model for that year.
2) I recommend use the stock 4-piston calipers. They are the same from 1963-1982
3) The size should change. But you should be running a line to each caliper from the master cylinder.
4) I would use one. Wilwood makes a good valve. copy and paste this link. http://www.wilwood.com/Products/006-MasterCylinders/010-RPV/index.asp
5) The spindles should work. As long as they are off of a brake disc setup.

I hope this helps. if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

How long you been working on yours? I have had my '65 in my garage for nearly 3 years, slowly piecing her back together.

I personally don't have a C2/C3. I've helped maintain/rebuild my sisters 1982 C3 & helped many customers with C1/C2 drum to disc conversions over the years.

Hey nice numbers on your TA, did you have George tune it for you or do you have someone else that does it?

Greg.

The '67 master cylinder has dual reservoirs, pistons, and ports, and the same master was used for both manual and power applications (casting #5455509, stamped "DC" on the front pad); '67 was the only year where power and manual cylinders were the same, and that cylinder had a "deep" hole in the rear piston. The J-56 Heavy-Duty brake cars (only 267 built) used a different cylinder (casting #5480346, stamped "PG"), with a "shallow" rear piston hole. You'll need an RPV in the rear line.
