I've seen those 'muffler delete' exhaust systems in several places and was wondering about them, two things actually. Is there anything special about them, or could I just take my car down to a local shop and tell them to take the mufflers off and weld some straight pipes in their place? I know some kits are chambered but others just look straight through. The other half is that I know less restriction makes more power, but that the motor also needs a certain amount of back pressure to maximize overall performance. What's the effect of that if any without mufflers? I'm mainly just looking to get as loud of an exhaust as I can without have to pay hundreds of dollars or more for performance mufflers. A second question I have is the whole exhaust. I was looking at mine the other day, and it's dual from the motor to the tips. Are all newer C4s dual or has something been done to mine? I was thinking they came together to run under the middle of the car then split again at the rear? Thus the use for the Y pipes I see in catalogs and stuff? Just wondering about it. Mine still has the rectangular LT1 tips as well. Any help or suggestions about it all?

You 95 has true dual from the factory with 2 3/4 pipes. The muffler eliminators will not hurt your power at all. I found Magnaflow tips on ebay that I liked and had a local muffler shop do my install a lot cheaper than buying the eliminators.
It is not terribly loud, just about right for me in fact.

I loved it around town. The rumble the pure sound of power off the line. Didnt hurt my MPG or performance one bit. The only thing that it will hurt is your ears after driving on the highway for about an hour. The Drone is deafening. Wife has already told me no to doing it to our 91 Vert.

Thought about getting like an electric cut-out system later on...Bet the Lt1 sounds bad@$$ with no mufflers:thumbsup:

Well I had a '98 Z28 last year with the heart of a C6 Z06 (basically) and 442 hp at the wheels. It was really loud as well so I'm used to that. Besides it's a small price to pay for the end result!

Just put chamered system from Sweetthunder.com on my '95; awesome sound, really old school burble.
