Worth gettng done or not? I have a couple buddies that have gotten theirs done and swear by it and then there are some that say it was a waste of money. Who to believe?

Yes, its worth it if you get it CNC ported and polished and also the throttle shaved. It costs a little more for the CNC work but its worth it

porting provides a minimal HP boost but does significantly increase your throttle response. It also makes your throttle more sensitive.

Similarly late model GM pickups have a restrictor plate built into the throttle body butterfly. This was done to make the truck more "driveable" Removing it really livens up the accelerator.

That is a good price, I thought that most companies hand ported these?

The nice thing about CNC work is consistency. Polishing is not nearly important as the proper shape. The CNC model was hand ported, flowed & reworked until it produced the best results, then it was duplicated on a CNC machine.
