Took them out as I do everynow and then to just check the condition and the tips appear to be a whitish color? Is this lean?

An off white color is a perfect color. Yes, it IS lean but that's the way it's supposed to be.

There are actually several conditions to look for. Here (http://www.verrill.com/moto/sellingguide/sparkplugs/plugcolorchart.htm) is a good reference.

Mine were black and then after I got it tuned it ran a ton better and the plugs ended up being not so much white but clear.

The last thing you want to see is dark and oily. Because that would indicate a probable piston ring failure.

Sadly enough I have seen most of these conditions on some of my old cars. Not on the vette though. Good find, excellent info.
