Hello everybody. I just bought my first vette in October. It's a 2008 Victory Red Z06. I have it stored for the winter and have about 1200 miles on it. My dilema is this. Should I leave the car completely stock or should I add some bolt on mods to it? I have considered a cai, headers, exhaust, 160 stat, and a tune. I am just unsure about modifying the car. Part of me says just leave it the way it came from the factory and the gearhead in me says to modify it. What are your opinions on this subject?? Any advise or suggestions is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thanks for your time.
Michael.

Michael, first of all contgrats on your new ride. Nice choice! I'm just a couple years behind you with a 2006 Z, I'm currently adding more toys to it as we speak. So my recommendations or vote call it, is to go for it. All those parts are all bolt ons, your not tearing down the motor, just adding a few mods that I'm sure you will like the results. Regarding a custom tune, who ever does your tune will most likely make a base file, there for later down the line for what ever reason you want to pull the mods off the car and bring back to stock, you can unbolt all the mods, re-install the stock parts and have the tuner just swap out the custom tune for the original stock one.

You can just do the small mods like the cat back and the cold air intake. Those right there will wake that bad boy up and they are very easy to take off!!

Congratulations Michael, and I agree with the above posts. The new
Z06's really respond well to some headers, and a cold air intake, and tune should put you over 500 RWHP!
You're pretty close to us, if you have any questions, feel free to let me know,
