How many Vette owners have been in street race? I for one am easy target on the roads. These cars have so much power. I won't mess around unless back roads or not alot of traffic. Heck, I have a 505HP Z06, I'll race a 85 Civic if they want!

I won't lie, I have been in alot of them and I have won most, not all! I got my butt handed to me by one of those AMG 55 or 65, that thing was fast!! Luckily I don't come across too many of those so my wins are more than my losses!

Well I have been in several races since I bought the vette so far the only one that I have lost was to an Gen 2 RX7 that was boosting & Juicing...And that my friend just pissed me off...lol
I have been contemplating a twin turbo set up for it now..Nothing to big twin T-25's but that will be a while yet before that happens.

What is it with people if they see a vette they want to try and race it, even if they are driving a delapidated(sp) junker of a car that barely runs...I just don't get it. I have had so many people jump at me it is pathetic.

It has to be something worthy for me, I mean a souped up Mustang, Exotic of some sort, Gas, insurance, and tickets are just to pricey to be racing every Honda that rolls up!

Same reason you would. To see them get on it. I had a guy come by giving me a thumbs up after I was doing one of my marathon burnouts after washing the car. Its a vette, you gotta do it while the tires are wet otherwise they might not go at all. About 5 years ago when 11 second cars were still considered fast the closest race I ever had was with a C4 of all things. Not sure what he had but it took me a second to get by him. Im willing to give about anything a quick run in the Z. I did buy it to have fun after all. Well, and get some A/C in a car that does good burnouts.

I had several kills in my camaro, but not much in the vette. Soon as i got it she laid down over the doug nash. I wont race ricers anymore. Most of those kids are really dangerous; Ive seen at least 5 almost get killed racing.

I get challenged alot.I'm usually in traffic anyway so I might just jump it once but won't get crazy.I think usually that is all they want to see anyway.I will take it out of town and blow the smokeout of it when I'm tuning or after a mod.

Theres definately a time and place. Things can go bad fast in a car thats capable of spinning the tires at 100mph stock. On a tahoe cruise we did last year someone was messing around and did a burnout across the intersection. When the car moved out he got scared and let off it sending it into a deathwhip. Car hit a truck sideways then went 40mph over a curb backwards. All for messing around in a bad place without enough knowledge to handle the car. Was a black Z06 too. Kindve hurt to watch. lol

I've been out many times and come across every kid that sees my bright yellow Z06 and thinks they should give a race a try... not that I have the fastest Corvette or Z06 for that matter, but there are to many drivers now a days that just do no think and only act with their right foot. But sometimes if I see that I am where it will not get anyone in trouble, and looks safe enough, then I do occassionally. Mostly just spirited jumps for a few seconds, (Hell a few seconds in the boost is plenty more then fast enough...lol)
