: ALDL Question!

When jumping A & B together while checking for codes in the
Assembly Line Data Link (ALDL) connector or Assembly Line Communication Link (ALCL),I noticed my cooling fans kicked on.

My question is since I'm having a high coolant temp problem in traffic I was wondering if this would cause any problems if I left A&B jumped together and drove the Vette to see if it helped to prevent the high temps in traffic.

What say you?
Thanks
Herb

93 LT1!
230 to 240 digital & car barely gets out of it's way when its this hot. Very poor throttle response at these temps.
Get rolling and back to 190 and everything is great!

Cleaned in front of the radiator lately?
Lottsa stuff gets sucked up in there blocking air flow.
Take radiator out and blow backwards with garden hose.Good time to do flush of coolant system while apart.
What temps do the fans turn on at? Do fans turn on when hot ?
Vettes run hi temps stock; fans come on at about 228

On your 93 you dont have to jump the ALDL any more . You can pull all the codes from every system on the car just by pushing a few buttons on the dash, they will all come up on the Digital Speedometer. I'm home now but in the morning i will get you the corect buttons to push for your year, It's very cool all the info you can pull up.

P.S Herb, Al Copeland was one of a kind and is Greatly missed in the Offshore Power Boat World. I raced only one time against him back in 1989 on lake Pontchartrain, 8 foot sea's on a lake, I brought Props for slick water! Never would of thunk it. Al Won.
Al Copeland could Show Off better then even the Great Evel Knievel, With all his toys.
