Is this recommended? Are there any pro or cons from a performance/handleing stand point? Or is it just a appearance perk?

The ride is a little harder, the handeling a little better. You should get an alignment when you are done. The looks are killer. No more 4X4.

Thanks for the tips, wasn't sure about this and didn't want to do something then later regret and have to reverse what I had done.

That does look better, any clearance issues? Hitting the front or center?

This one looks kind of like mine. After seeing this photo, I'm going to lower mine. Is this hard to do?

After you lower it ,put a couple hundred miles on it then have the a full alignment done.Call shops first and make sure they can accomidate a lowered vehicle.

I am sure that you can do it in your garage if you have the proper tools and know what you are doing. I do think that it makes the car look alot better when it is lowered also, does'nt look like you are going four wheeling!

I had mine done and found out later its just a handful of bolts, but will say it looks so much better lowered.

I've lowered a supra I used to own. I've also lowered a mercedes, integra, and another supra for friends. Lowering a car definitely makes the car look more sleek. Handling around corners is much better (the lower you go the better the handling), especially with performance tires. However, be prepared for a bumpier ride. Also, be very careful with where you drive, potholes and uneven pavement can be a nightmare!

Hey Smokey I had the opportunity to speak with the guy from GM who designed and engineered the c5. I asked him about lowering my c5 he said you can lower it safley 10 mm with out any after market components.

Are you all lowering your Vettes yourself? Or having someone do it for you? If thats the case what do they charge to lower a Vette?

Are you guys lowering on taller wheels? I'm already scraping the air dam on dips and driveways. I do like the slammed look though.

:iagree: Rides much harder IMHO, personally I haven't noticed much in the handleing department. Any with out a doubt the car looks much better.

I went with the Phadt Engineering coilovers and sway bars. I lowered the car about as far as you can and still get over a regular size speed bump. Have to really watch out for steep driveways though...OUCH. The handling is awesome and I can harden up the ride for track days then go back to a street ride in about 10 minutes. I installed the parts but went to a good alignment shop to have them get that adjustment right. Best mod I ever did. Oh I also put on the front frame savers (small wheels) and the aluminium rocker skids too.

Good tip. Never even thought about getting an alignment done. I will now.
