Hi changing the spring may help.... check for worn suspension parts trailing arms accident damage etc
have got a 360 lb frp VBP spring on my 77 L48 and rebuilt suspension and love it....I like a firmer ride than the softer springs
460 lb coils in the front and 1 1/8 front sway bar

Spend $ on the SharkBite Coil Over Conversion for C3s.!!! If you're not rich, then definetly go with the VB Composites, the stock steel systems, 9 leaf (stock) or 7 leaf "Gymkahna" (Chevy's stock suspension "upgrade") will quickly rust, and the plastic spacers will squeeze out. I replaced my original '78's 9 with the 7, and in a few years they looked as bad as the original, (although they were stiffer). I'm planning on going all out and getting the SharkBite System when I accumulate the cash.
Also, rebuild your rear with poly (or roller bearing..if you can find them) bushings, and universal joints with grease fittings. Driver side sag can be caused by worn out rubbers as well as springs.

I had 2 busted leafs in my o.e. spring. I went with a composite, I thought I needed a heaver spring because of the 454 I put in the car. On the contrary. I have the spring at the lowest point of adjustment, and I think the rear of the car is still too high. I would go with a light composite, and adjust your height up.
The car does ride and handle much better. It hooks up much better too, (still have to back pedal a little). I'm getting some heavier springs for the front, which should even out my ride height. Hopefully it doesn't look like a 4X4 when I'm done.

When you speak of light composite, does that mean the lbs go up or down (300lb spring vs 330lb... etc)?
