Role of quarters that have built up over the years under the seats! :D It should be pretty straight forward, where did you get the new carpet from? Cost? Post some pics of the install, I may be looking to replace my carpet soon... when the wife drives the car her heals made a small hole in carpet!:(

HELLO, I am wanting to polish my 1993 sawtooth wheels. What is the best method of removing clear coat? What is the best polishing method? Do you take clear out of the web areas? Once clear is off and wheels are polished, should I reclear or just keep up with a little Mother's?

Thanks, RogerB

There is a chemical that you can get at automotive body supply store that will remove the clear coat, however when wheels are just polished it will become high maintenance as you will need to continue polishing over and over again in the future. A buddy of mine on his car paid a guy locally here who took the wheels and stripped them down, polished them and recoated them with clear coat. I will need to check with him on exact $$ amount... I think he only paid like $70 per wheel for this process?

Hey King,

The carpet is a mass back cut pile/red @ $610.00 and change. This is my 3rd vette, and I have always bought from Ekler's. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !! I am in Ky. and it is basketball season. After the CATS win the National Title, I will start on my carpet. I will post some pics.

Thanks, RogerB

Hi Roger - never replaced carpet before... is it "pre-molded" to just slip on it or will you be twisting and turning it all around to mold it yourself? $610 doesn't seem like a bad deal - mine you can see the padding under the carpet, I need to push my drivers side floor mat over to the right to cover partial, so I would like to replace it some day. I would be interested to see the installation photos.

Agree! Leaving them polished only will turn into a Saturday polishing project for you. Get them clear coated

Seats are actually pretty easy to remove. Look under the front of the seat and you'll see a metal clip. Flip the clip loose and then you can pop the bottom cushion right out. At that point you'll have good access to the bolts holding the seat in as well as the electrical connections. The front bolts are covered by plastic shields that you can pop off with a screwdriver. When you re-install the seats, consider reversing them. That way you'll get more even wear since the drivers seat typically gets more wear than the passenger seat. Also, the side bolsters that get the wear from rubbing against them getting in and out of the vehicle will now be against the consel so you will get more wear out of them.
