What year is the car? I'm thinking an early to mid year C4. I have replaced them on my 89 and 94 and the didn't connect the sameway. My 89 also had those rivets. They are just soft alum. and drilling them out is pretty straight forward. Don't get carried away with the drill and you'll be fine. Since your already going to replace the sweeps don't worry if you bend it or whatever. Once you have them drilled out just use a screwdriver and a rubber mallet to knock the rivets off. Make sure you replace the rivets when installing the new set. Copper

I usually reach in with a dremil tool that has a reinforced cutting disk to grind the head part way off then pull them out with needle-nose. Instead of using rivets to reinstall cut down some sheetmetal screws (so they are not long enough to through to the outside paint!) and screw them into the holes. If you are not comfortable with just that (some are a little loose) put a dab of epoxy on the screw threads. It will still come out later if you don't get carried away with the epoxy.
