How many of you have Crossfire Injected '82's? Are you going to buy one of the new Renegade intake manifolds? From the recent e-mail I received from DCS, they are on schedule and will be releasing them in late July/early August. I'm told I'm #7 on their pre-buy list, so I'll be getting one of the first ones produced. I already got my throttle bodies bored to 2.0" by DCS, so all I need is their new intake manifold now

I am getting a renegade. Is there any crossfire mod threads in the C3 section or is it all over at the C4 section?

For some reason, all of the Crossfire Injection threads ended up in the C4 section. Because there are '82 Crossfire Injection owners in this section, I thought I'd see if I can get something going in this section. So far 85L98-84L83, you're the only person to reply to this new thread. I wonder why there is no response. As the '82's were made in limited numbers (only 25,000 of them) because they were moving to a new plant, maybe that's the reason. Limited numbers.
We should be getting our new Renegade manifolds pretty soon (this is July 14th). I'm so stinking anxious, I've got all my stuff to do the installation already sitting on my workbench. If you take a good look at the Renegade picture I sent you via e-mail recently, you'll notice the rear of the manifold has a curve in it for distributor clearance (???). Because of that curve, a stock intake manifold lid gasket won't work. That means you'll have to use gasoline resistant silicon to seal the lid. And also be aware the left rear water jacket needs to be plugged shut for proper coolant circulation (unless it's already plugged shut). I have a can of Bondo waiting for that job. Our cars should run real sweet with the new Renegade.

I have a 82 crossfire and was told not to buy it unless I wanted to change to a carb setup to make it run.
To my surprise with a 200hp motor and a 2:87 rear gear this thing launches better than my 94 GT warmed up Mustang.
I haven't decided on a renegade yet until I get hooker side pipes and 4:11 gears.
If I put something on top of the motor to get extra in I need something to get extra out.
A Chevy small block is nothing but a engine stand to bolt on horsepower.

DCS put their prototype on a bone-stock '82 "Vette and got 33 more rear wheel horsepower. Whoever told you to NOT put a Renegade on didn't have a clue what they were talking about.

You mis-read what I wrote. I meant when I was going to buy an older vet I was told not to buy a cross fire vet.
I am looking real hard at a renegade but not until I make other up grades. My car also needs the throttle bodies rebushed and bored but I don't want to sideline the car until winter when it sits in the garage and I don't mind letting it sit to get the bodies rebuilt.

I do not have a cross fire, but I do have a cross ram intake.
All I can say is it runs very good and sounds GREAT when both quads open up.
Just cold blooded when cold, but with all my cars I let the motor run for a few minutes to get heat in the motor before driving which also stops any backfire thru the carbs. :rockon6rk:
