I bought a wing, and it installs on the rear window(hatch) bolts. Anyone interested in seeing it? It is not painted yet, it is primer black.

Any wing fans?

The battery is dead, forgot to put it on charge, couldn't back it out to wash it before picture. But you get the idea. It bolts to the four little buttons on the glass. So if I start to hate it I can take it off and no holes.

Hmm, that's different. I dont think I've seen one like that before. How long ago did you pick that up? I cant find anything like it in the Eckler's catalog. Dont think I'd like one on mine, but it IS a neat alternative to the standard offerings.

It was discontinued about 5 years ago and ecklers was charging $399.00. I bought it online from a guy for $140. It looks better when it is clean. We had a bit of a dust storm here, one guy called it a microburst:wtf: . This is a run of the mill TPI, I wouldn't put it on my classic crossfire. These rear hatch wings look better on black vettes anyway.

Did you notice MAACO painted over my rear corvette emblem. But I like it better this way. Even a MAACO screw up turned out cool:sm_party:

Looks like it's trying to be a Gen I (early '90's) Dodoge Stealth RT/TT.

It looked better on the Stealth.

I don't like wings unless they're functional, required and used. I.e. You actually RUN you car at a track, and need the down force. Otherwise, IMO, it messes up the clean lines of the 'Vette, increases drag, is is poser/ricey.

I like stealths, thats why I dig the wing. Any more stealth pic's? Thats a car dodge should bring back and just put a big supercharged V8 in it. Turbo's are to costly to repair. Also isn't buick being sold or shut down? Who ever buys buick should bring back the GN but make the interior look more sport not so much like a taxi cab on the inside.

When I am done with my cheap ebay 85 it will need the down force.

I like stealths, thats why I dig the wing. Any more stealth pic's? Tons...since we just got done owning the one above, for a year and a half. Anything special you want to see? Did you notice the pic of the car sitting in the pits at RMR? That pic was just for you.

I don't get it? You don't own a C4 but you post in here? Are you in here just to bust my plums:flasher:

Where did I "bust (your) plums"?

I bought the wing because I thought it looked cool. I know it will not serve much purpose, the car will only do about 150 mph. Once I install the 3.54 gears will probably only go 130 mph. The fastest I go is only about 120 mph when I'm passing 2 or 3 cars at a time, then I slow back down.

I thought you were busting my plums:flasher: about that I bought the wrong wing.

What does the stealth do in the 1/4 mile and 0-60?

I wasn't "busting plums", I was trying to help you out. You said:I When I am done with my cheap ebay 85 it will need the down force.
Which implies that it will go fast and...need downforce for safety and traction...and that THAT wing is going to help you. However, the wing you bought isn't going to provide any meaningful down force. In fact, it looks to me like it may actually provide lift and certainly, it produces extra drag.
But then you go on to say:

The fastest I go is only about 120 mph when I'm passing 2 or 3 cars at a time, then I slow back down....so it's hard to know WHAT your goals are; to run slower than you can now? But you only go 120 anyway?

What ever your goals are, and what ever speed you go, that wing isn't going to help you.

Oh well, I like it, wife thinks it looks like a sunfire. What does she know.

No, she does have a ring on her finger. She was a girlfriend at one time obviously, I'm not and Indian I don't have arranged marriages.

Noted.

I forgot to answer your question. OUR Stealth ran 14.5 @ 97, at RMR. I could have gone slightly faster with "max effort" driving (5000 RPM full boost clutch drop) and WOT shifts. But as notorious as those cars are for breaking drive line parts (that you can't get anymore), I wasn't willing to drive it that way.

60' was 1.8 with a 3000 RPM roll on throttle, roll off clutch.

The car would probably tag 13.99 stock, at sea level w/full effort driving.

With the turbo's I would of thought they would have gone faster than that.

Why? 300 "turbo" hp is no better than 300 NA hp. 300 is 300...and it's in a 3800+ lb car.

I thought they had more than 300 hp. But top speed in those cars is high.

300 hp, 307 lb-ft. Top speed is ~150-155. Not that fast. But decent for a car that can do everything that car can.
