My 02 was stolen then recovered, damaged was limited to just the top cut open and my stereo taken. My question is whether or not a handy DIY'er can install the new top? Are there out of the box new convertible tops you can buy and install yourself. The car was in storage on my property and wasn't insured so all the cost will be coming out of my pocket.

Thats a pretty involved job, personally I would have a professional do it. :)

Totally my fault, the car wasn't be driven and just sat there. Ok, if its that pain in but I'll bring it in to get fixed. Was hoping it was kind of like putting a blanket over a bed??

Big AL, yes unless you are an expert with Vert's than I would seriously take it to the pro's as this is an area where you don't want it to look sloppy!

100% agree with smokin, neighbor has a ragtop BMW, that last year had a new top put on it, and it turned out so bad the first time, he ended up having to bring it back in 2 times before the got it fixed correct (there where wrickles).

Hey thanks guys, I was just trying to keep the out of pocket cost down. I ended up having a guy locally do the job who gave me a good price. Well I'll be more careful from this point out!
