Finally, after 62 years I've finally gotten my 1st vette - an '01 pewter 2 owner coupe with 22K miles. In attempting to hook up my detector I've successfully run my wiring from the center top of the windshield to the fuse box in the passenger's pan and have found a valid positive. Where, in this vicinity, can I find a solid ground?

So you routed the wires to the fuse box under the passenger's side of the dashboard? If that is the case, I think that you are going to have to lift up the car[et a little and try and find a bolt or something to get your ground from. It's not the easiest thing with these cars t o find a good ground!

The easiest thing to do is wire it off of the mirror lights.

I used the Brown (+) and the second Orange in for ground.

I wired mine to the plug on the mirror. It only comes on when the car is on and the doors are shut.
