I have been taking on and off my wheels lately reviewing what I wanted to do with my brake set up. During this process I constantly was getting my grubby hands all over my clean wheels. I hate cleaning my wheels!

My wife gave me an idea today as she was doing some early spring cleaning. She gathered up a small bag of socks that lost their mate. We all have those socks the ones that you can never find the matching pair. Any way rather than tossing them out, she suggested that I slip a sock over my hand and then clean my wheels! Works great and I save $$ from terry cloths or greasing up my cleaning gloves that I wash the body with!

Not stop the press news or tip, however I found it to be useful so I thought I would share with you all!:D

Good tip, I also you the matched sets that may have sprung holes or gottne worn out and thin in places instead of trashing them, same with the older t-shirts too, and other soft colthing that could be good towels rags, unless they are good enough to give to goodwill or something, then they would go there first.

Will they still work if the are fresh off the feet after the gym? ha ha ha.

On a serious note I have 2 sets of "washing gloves" that I had to purchase one is for the body of the car and the other is for the wheels. Using a sock will be perfect... just need to watch out for the ones with the holes in 'em! :D

If anyone hasn't tried them yet, those little foam balls that you attach to a drill (cordless is best) work like a champ!!!!!! I even use one to polish my exhaust tips...

Although I have heard that the used gym socks previously mentioned by a notorious founding member here works exceptionally well. Extensive studies by MIT discovered that socks worn for 2 consecutive basketball games that were absent mindedly placed in the corner of a warm closet for 8 days work best due to the build up of bacteria. The bacteria’s waste product combines with the residual salt crystals from the owner’s sweat, creating a noxious ammonia paste like substance who’s molecular properties have been found exceptionally well suited for cleaning metal surfaces. The study, initially funded by the US Navy for 4.7 billion dollars has been dropped as the smell was making submariners too sick to perform vital tasked while deployed.
