I've seen my oil temps hanging around 125 -135 at AZ ambient 100 +++ 110 so I plan to build an oil cooler. I think the best location would be in front of the radiator support for best air flow but the factory unit as well as the lingenfelter units are in the engine compartment WHY? does distance reduce pressure? I could use tube instead of braided. total length should be about 12 ft ANY feed back????

Unless your oil temperature is going up to 250 degrees or more on a regular basis, there's nothing wrong with it. So there's no need to put an oil cooler on.

Did I miss something, 125 - 135 oil temps is barely warmed up? Did you mean to put a "2" rather than a "1"?

I think the 2 is correct.

Regardless 235 f is fine.

If you want an oil cooler most place it in front of the condenser so if you have no CAI the fan pulls air across it when it turns on. there are oil coolers with their own fans too.

With a 195 degree thermostat and a 4 tube radiator, my oil temperature runs right at 175 degrees when I'm driving on flat ground. But when I pull a steep hill at 65-70 mph, the oil's temperature goes up to 250 degrees (on a 100+ degree day). I only worry when my oil temperature exceeds 250 degrees for any length of time.

I believe the Stock oil cooler off of a C6 Z06 will bolt onto a normal C6. We sell the complete kit if you guys are interested. PM or Call (818)558-1499.

On my C5 I went with a DeWitts radiator w/ EOC.

Looks like they have a C6 version:

Great quality stuff.....
