: Any errors from installing Stainless steel brake hoses?

I've been doing some looking around on replacing my brake lines with stainless steel and found some reports coming from GM saying that people who installed stainless steel brake lines had issues with service traction control, active handling, and ABS with warnings on the DIC.

Saying that the metal in the brake lines creates this static electricity which then causes some confusion between the wheel speed sensors?

Anyone hear anything about this?

I have SS brake lines on my 05 Z51.
I've had them on for about a year and haven't had any problems. As for messages on the DIC, I've had no more than I did before the SS lines.

However, since I check the air pressure in my tires more frequently adding or letting out, the DIC displays "Active Handling Calibrating" almost every time I change the air pressure up or down.
But I don't think I'm having problems with the SS lines, so unless someone in the know like talon90 says SS lines are bothersome to the sensor network, I'm keeping them on.

The only problem I had with the SS lines was the coupling from the SS line to the metal line, the hole the coupling rests in was too small for the coupling that came with the SS lines, and the hole needed to be slightly larger so we did that.
I was reluctant to drill on the car, but to get them on the car I went ahead and did it.

I have SS brake lines on my '07 Z06 and have no issues or error codes.

No issues here with either Z51 brakes or with thier Z06 replacements.

You shouldn't have any problems, actually that is the first time that I've heard something like that. I have not had any issues or codes come up with mine.

from GM
The owners of some Corvette have experienced Service ABS, Service Active Handling Traction Control messages. Wheel speed sensor codes may be set. This condition may be caused by replacing the OEM rubber brake hoses with aftermarket stainless steel brake hoses. It is believed that the metal in the brake lines conducts static electricity, causing confusion in the wheel speed sensors. The brake hoses must be returned to original rubber ones before the case can be investigated. This is a customer-pay expense.
