Happy holidays all you SmokinVette's.

On page 48 in Vette magazine STS Turbo has a great article to read. STS is one of our advertisers so thought would throw a plug out on this one. The article shows some great installation shots, which by the way Rick makes it look so simple to install! I'm sure theres alot to it, but impressive regardless. At the end of the article it shows some pretty impressive numbers on a C6 automatic with only 7 lbs of boost hitting 509RWHP and 504 lbs of TQ. That equals approx 621/615 at the crank!

Pretty bad *** in my book!

I have this article book marked to read when I get a chance. STS has had a couple articles out this year. I'll be sure to comment further when done with the article. I'm Carl by the way, great site.

Just came across this slick diagram on STS's site, its a marketing piece but I thought was nicely done to show off how this set up would look if you have Supermans powers to see through things!

Good post smokin, just looking through my mags and realized I don't have Vette magazine. Will need to change that. I have heard of STS and APS twin turbos, it seems you see more about APS in the magazines, I guess most of these are advertisements?

I've recently starting looking at new options with my boyfriend for my 2005. I have seen the APS turbos but have not seen this company before how are they different? Or are all these companies just about the same. I just posted another question here about the difference between turbos and centrifigul superchargers. So all the help is greatly appreciated.

Wow that is cool how they put the turbos in the back of the car! Does it make it harder for the turbos to get the boost to the engine over that longer range? Just seems that it might not be as efficient, IMO

I like this system, I have seen a Vette with it on and I love the sound of the STS, it whistles like crazy!

I was wondering the same thing... That is pretty far for the intake to travel... I wonder how much of a delay that would cause in spooling. I also wonder how much cooler the air intake is back there since it is not pulling warm air from the engine bay. I also wonder if you could put in additional side scoops that looked good to help with airflow.

Here is a quote from the FAQ section of the STS site.

With the turbo so far back, don't you get a lot of turbo lag?
No, our turbochargers are sized to operate at this remote location. Just like any turbocharger, once the turbo is up to temperature and in the rpm range for which it was designed to operate. The boost comes on hard and fast. All of our systems will produce full boost below 3000 rpm.

Here are a couple of graphics that may help as well to get an idea for what is possible with a stock motor on a C5 and C6 (non Z06). The higher number is from a C6 with manual trans at 10 psi. The other is a stock C5 manual trans at about 7psi.

There are plenty of other dyno numbers and photos on the STS site. Here is a link to the C6 product page.

Is the system available for the c4. I didn't see it mentioned as a bolt on kit or do you have to use the universal kit. If not, are you guys developing a kit for us c4 guys?

I had heard on another forum you guys were developing a remote turbo system like this for C4 corvette. Im building an 427 for my 85 and I am really interested in rear turbo for it. I dont have ac in this car so I was considering a centrifugal supercharger, but nobody makes them with the blower on the passenger side. This whole remote turbo idea is really awesome because of the lower intake temperatures allowing for more boost/ign advance. Lemme know I'm really interested in this if it can be done and make about 700-800 whp on a built 427 small block.
