I have a 2007 C6 petty much stock other than a few bolts I have on order. A friend of my girlfriend has a 1993 RX7, he won't share whats under the hood other than there is some "forced induction". The car looks petty much stock from the exterior other than some aftermarket wheels. Any way at the Christmas part 2 nights ago he was talking all sorts of trash that his 1993 RX7 will take my 07 Vette easily in the 1/4 mile run? So after the holidays we are going to get to a track and run them for $300. Ok what you all think... can I take this guy? The big question is what all this motor of his could have? LOL I know tuner cars a bit and know you crame some serious high strung power in RX7's!

Those rice-burners with an add-on turbo can go pretty fast. If he won't show you what's under the hood, look for an intercooler and that should give away a supercharger or turbo. Don't assume because it's a Mazda and an old one , that it can't beat a stock C6.
Is it worth $300 to find out if you are faster or is the embarrasment of getting beat in front of your girl worth it? A good running RX7 turbo can run in the 12's easily.

:iagree: I so agree with sgsvette, a tricked out RX7 can be dangerous, if this guy won't show you under the hood, and its a blind race?? I would enter with extreme caution. :)

That Supra was moving, personally I wouldn't race till I saw what was under the hood of that RX7, man didn't you see the movie Fast and Furious? That RX7 there was fast as hell! If he not willing to show you under the hood, race with no bet, just for fun! :cheers:

Vettes are fast as hell, but a well tuned high stronged out twin turbo RX-7 will eat most anything. Hit the drag strip and either run for no cash or have like a 400HP shot of NOS :rofl:

You know what, I'm not a hugh fan of the import "ricer" looks but this RX7 looks really good! Damn the body looks like its all carbon fiber?

yea im sure that rx7 is boosting IMO if u have full exhaust tune and drag radials u should smoke him easy!

I wouldn't race for money until you looked under the hood. If you find a turbo, I would be very weary. Superchargers for imports don't produce as much power as superchargers for vettes... However, as a former owner of a supra turbo, I can tell you that a turbo is an imports best friend. You could look under his hood and see a turbo but have no clue how much boost he is running. I'm not sure about an RX-7 but a supra can handle TONS of boost with a stock engine. The newest supras (MK4) can handle 800+ horsepower on the stock bottom end of the engine! So just remember... If he knows you're vette is stock and is running his mouth, it is probably for a good reason. Find out what he's got, mod if necessary then tear him a new one!

that guy in that Z06 must not be able to drive for **** because at Cedar Falls, Iowa (i think that's were it was anyway) a guy ran a 10.80 with his stock Z06 but he put a pair of old 10.5 slicks, but yes that supra aswome the tires were crying for the whole 1320'
