Check the cable operation ; sometimes they bind up.
Disconnect the cables at the TB and see if it will return to proper idle position by itself with the engine running. That we tell you if it is the TB or cable

That can also be caused by the holes in the pot metal TB casting that the throttle shaft turns in being worn. If blipping the throttle will restore the proper idle speed, that is likely the problem. The air flow pressure (vacuum) pushes the throttle shaft into the worn hole and won't allow the shaft to turn back to the full closed idle position. If the throttle closes after the engine is shut off, that is another sign of the worn holes. Some have reported temporary success by lubing the throttle shaft where it passes through the casting. Although the stock TB has no bushings, there are outfits that can repair the TB by boring out those holes and installing bushings. Otherwise, if it isn't in the cable, it is time for a new TB.

yeah the cables are the likely cause of your problem my reason for saying so is because the same thing happened to my dad at full throttle. The throttle body cable got pinched and caused it to stay full open not even the brakes where able to slow the car down good thing for him he hit a bump in the road which unstuck it.

Your car has ABS/ASR so what ever you do dont just start adjusting cables. In fact if you think the problem mite be a binding or sticky throttle cable take it to a Professional for adjusting, You can cause your self big problems trying this repair on your own.
