I'm ner here and looking for some help.
I have a 1989 Corvette convertible C4 with 6 speed manual transmission.
I have owned this care since new. it is completely stock with 75,000 miles.
I want to spend some money to make it go faster. But first, I'd lke to get a better shifter for it. I routinely fumble the shift from 2nd to 3rd.
Unfortunately, I'm not finding anyone who makes a performance shifter for the 1989 6 speed transmission.
Can anyone help.

B&M and Hurst used to make short throw shifter for a ZF6 but don't see them listed anymore

yeah I saw that. thanks for replying. I found the part number for the B&M and looks like they are still available, but its not really plug and play like it is on the C5.

have you changed the oil in the tranny lately
i changed the oil and it shifts really nice,i used the gm syncromesh

uxb101 -- you know, I tried to change the oil in the transmission ad broke my socket trying to get the plug loose. I really need to get that oil changed.

What, specifically was that link supposed to take us to?? A plug remover? A short shifter? It took ME to the "C4" section. Please elaborate, as I'd be interested in a high quality shifter w/adjustable shift stops for the ZF trans.

I was under the impression we had a short shifter for you guys...I apologize. Have you guys heard the B&B exhaust? It sounds amazing...
It seems that ARK makes a short shifter!
