Is there anything that I can do to make this better? Everytime I use my ac it smells like mold or just stale air. It goes away but that is after about 10 mins! The air is nice and cold but you have to keep the windows down until the rotten air goes away!:help:

I have seen air freshners that clip onto the vent grill.Very discreet and work well. Other than that alot of things can factor into stale or smelly air.
Where the car is stored,if the cowl is dirty.

Your AC unit has a drain tube that drains the condensation from the system. If that drain tube is plugged water will remain in there and that is often the source of the moldy rotten smells.

Make sure that the drain tube is in place, clean and functional.

I is caused by fungi on the evaporator due to moister setting on there after a/c shut off. Newer GM have an afterblow option built in to BCM that can be activated to keep blower on after car turns off for 30sec in order to dry the evaporator.
You might want to pick up some A/C evaporator spray @ auto parts store, Start car, turn A/C on high and spray in thru cowl to kill fungi

We are probally a couple of hours. We are 25 miles north of Knoxville off 75. However from crossville you would get off the Harriman exit and 30 min drive from there.
