Nice #'s Tim! Quick question, how do you like the B&M shifter? I have the Hurst right now and I am not liking it very much, and actually I think it is falling apart so I will have to most likely get a new shifter soon!

Hey Greg,

I like it alot but I've modified it's feel, it was really too stiff for my wife, took alot of effort for her to get it left and right.

Since you already have a hurst I'm sure you're used to the notchiness and stiff feel. What I did was the venom mod, anally alligned the shifter rod and then I cut 1.5 loops off of the springs inside the shifter. It lessened the throw effort and did not change the positive gear engagement feel. When I pull it out of storage in the spring I'm changing gover to a better tranny fluid which should also help.

EBay has the Ripper for sale quite often. I have the older version and I'm not sure if the newer version has softer springs or not...

Intersting what you did to yours! I was just out tinkering around with the car and I started it up and just to feel the shifter a bit to see if it was still acting up and it was. What it is doing is it shifts into all the gears fine, but while it's in the gears (car not moving) I can move the shifter from side to side!? Not loosely, but for example if it's in R I can take the shifter and move it towards 1st. What do you make of that? Thanks Tim!

Greg.

It sounds like your hold down bolts might be loose...

Pop me your EMail and I'll send the adjustment Doc, it's too big to add as an attachment in here.
