OK, here's the deal.....:1zhelp:
I have a 1990 (just like in my avitar) and it is equipped with the Electronic Climate Control
The ECC has power and the little green light comes on whenever I push one of the buttons and the green light moves back and forth when I push another button.
I have checked the diagnostic codes a whole bunch of times and all I get is "00"
I get an outside temp reading and it is consistant with a digital thermometer I have.
I push the fan speed button up and down and the numbers go up and down, but the fan goes....nada, nothing, zilch...no air.
OK waddya think?
Oh yeah I have both the 1990 Service manual and the Supplement so you can direct me tothe right spot if you want.
I'm gettin' to old for this (58 on July 11th)

Are you meaning you have no fan at all, or that the fan speed does't change?
ps--58 isn't old, wish I could turn back the clock a bit. On the other hand retirement is great.

:iagree:
There is a blower control module under the hood that control the fans. The head unit appears to be working but the module may have no power or be faulty . Commonly goes bad
Have a look in the 8A manual for fault finding on it.

I'm having the same problem with my '88. It does exactly what your describing. I originally bought the car with it not doing anything, no power whatsoever, but I passed that off to the hack job that occurred when the stereo was stolen (haven't replaced it yet) while the original owner possessed it. However, after playing with the wire harness to it, I found it loose, and pushed it the rest of the way in and now I have power but like you, nothing else. I've done nothing further than check the fuses and nothing is blown. I know this doesn't help you but we probably have the same problem.

nothing is blown.
Hot wire the blower motor to see if it runs.
If so it is the common problem with the blower control module that controls the fan.

Check you have 12 V power to the blower module (thick red from memory ) BEFORE you replace it .
The supply wiring has a fusible link that could be blown not giving power to module

The plug that gos to the fan module gets very hot and the plastic will melt. As it cools the plastic will get in the connector and you will lose the 12 volts going in to the module. Easy fix, Check it first.
