I've been seeing some deals on LS3 crate motors and I was wondering if anyone has stuck one of these motors into your 2005. Mine is a automatic if that makes a difference. Will all the wiring and electronics line up or will I need different wiring harness?
Appreciate the feedback.

I know it can be done, they are pretty close to the same, I do believe you will need different wire harnesses.

It can definitely be done. We just completed an LS376/480 crate engine swap into a 2000 Vette.
Are you planning on doing it yourself?

Sounds like a good idea all the LS3 swaps are pretty basic from what ive read. Why not go for the Godzilla of GM crate motors "LS7" 427 7.0L ?
I love the LS1 threw LS3 but the LS7 is on another level

The LS7 can be a much bigger challenge since it is a drysump system instead of wet sump (LS3, LS2, LS1). You have to clear out space for the dry sump system to begin with.

thats true, they could just add a Procharger or single turbo to make it simple and painless
