What should be done with the fuel return line when putting in a Holley fuel pump , can I just cap it or does it need a breather to vent the fuel tank?

Does the Holley fuel pump not have a return line on it? If so, just cap the line. Your fuel tank has it's own seperate vent.

I just did the same thing. I just capped it and bent it up and tucked it out of the way. works just fine.

I am in the process of a body off restoration on a 71 vette. My replacement fuel pump also does not have a return line. I replaced all of my fuel and brake lines. I ran a return line up to the pump and then blocked it off with an AN capped fitting. The reason I did this was in the future if I ever returned my car to original condition the line will be there. I would recommend you do not do too much damage to the lines. Replacing most of these lines are impossible without removing the body.
