Not cutting wires will make things a challange....but do-able with a relay harness.

These are my old Specter Werkes C5R lights using 55w 6000K 9006 bulbs in the low beam projectors. They are expensive, but IMO the best performing aftermarket fixed headlights for the C5:

Not had stock for a LONG while. The ones in this pic are Hella Micro De Fogs. I used 6000K 55w HID bulbs in them with great success. They worked great until i got my current projector headlight setup then they were a bit redundant so i switched to the the Micro DE Xenon (driving pattern)

Here's the DE fog with HID:

and the DE Xenon pattern:

DE xenon on the road:

The DE fogs run in the $200 range w/o the HID kit and the DE xenons aree about $600

I have a few pics of my fixed headlights on my 99 Coupe, however I am new here and unable to post pics untill post count is 10 or greater. You can Google NemesisC5 and it will take you too my YouTube vids and maybe posts on other forums with pics. I have the same product that RadioFlyer has on his car. The real trick to seeing at night in a C5 is having the HID's installed

These are DEPOT HID's on my 2001. I like them but drive very little at night so no real opinion on better than stock.

This is about 2' from the closed door. Brighter than stock BUT I don't know how far they project compared to stock.

Hi,
I have a pair of Hella Micro De and want to install 55W HID. Do you think I will have any problems. Everybody tells me it's a bad idea, that it would melt the reflector and the housing. What do you think? You said you'we done it already. Did you have any problems of sort?
thanks.:1zhelp:

I had no problems with mine. Most of the Hella Midro DE housings are metal (magnisum if i remember) I ran mine for near 2 years with no problems.
