Hi all,

Recently I did some work to the aging suspension on my 90 vert'.

Bilsteins wouldve been the cheaper and standard alternative. And Koni wouldve been going above and beyond (perhaps) but in the end I chose the Edelbrock IAS shocks from Ecklers.

First up - Customer service - the representative I spoke to was cool and the order went well - the shipping.....ehhhh....well Ill cut them some slack - it did take awhile for them to get here but thats what happens when you have to get something across the Pacific Ocean.

Installation went well for my trusted Japanese mechanics - they put in all 4 shocks, all new ball joints, and replaced the tie rods in less than 24 hours - $400 - that might be alot, but my cohorts said that was reasonable. All in all they were installed correctly.

Now for the Performance.....

Night and Day from my 20 year old Bilsteins. I think they even raised the height on my Vette an inch or so but thats fine - lots of speed bumps here.

To Long Didnt Read Version:

Theyre good shocks and theyve soaked up alot of the crappy spots on the roads I normally travel -- just a good feel for the road even for a touchy old Vette------- and yes.... I recommend them :)

$400 sounds pretty reasonable for all that work. How long did it take to get them to Japan?

Mid America got the Tie Rods and Ball Joints here in....if you can believe it...less than a week.

As for Ecklers - they took a month to get the shocks here and some wiper blades. But Ill cut em' some slack - this is Japan afterall.

All items were ordered on the same day within maybe an hour of each other.

Less than a week for mid america is pretty impressive to Japan

I put those same shocks on my 84 vette, the 84 is so stiff that I didn't really notice much of a difference from my old shocks. But it does handle better over rough roads now. It doesn't kick out on the rear end going around corners over bumps as much. I'm happy with them also and they look cool. How much did they charge you for the shocks?
