I have a 1985 Corvette, and today the rearend in my car has started squeeking when I make a turn, can anyone tell me what maybe happening? I have already checked the fluid level. It only does this when I drive it enough for it to get hot, if I only drive it short distances it does not make a sound. I can only hear it at low speeds so I'm not sure if it does it goin faster or not.

I would start with checking your wheel bearings. It may be that longer driving heats things up enough for the metal to expand and create the problem when you turn and put stress on the bearing.

I checked wheel bearings, I had one bad one, I replaced it and the noise is still there. Is there anymore suggestions?

Just came accross your post, and I'm not a veteran 'Vette owner, but when I had new tires installed, I asked them to grease the u-joints on all drive shafts (I assume there are at least 6.) :thumbsup3:

:goodpost: It is liklely his half shaft ujoints are bad. At least one of them is bad, there are four of them to deal with.
