Hello to everyone. I'm new to this website and new to owning a Corvette (C4). It's a 1988, metallic charcoal in color, and my end goal is to restore it to new condition and show it at contests. Overall, it's body is in great shape but the interior is well worn and needs replaced, plus, the original owner had a CD player that was stolen and the crooks broke the dash all up while they were 'removing' it. And the owner did a hack job on the wiring when he installed the radio, so I'll have to fix all that mess. I've owned many '80's Z28's, one 1989 IROC, a 1978 T/A, and a 1996 Mustang GT convertible (don't hold that one against me...bought it for the wife and got it in the divorce) that I still currently have. I'm sure that like many here, I've always wanted a 'Vette' and I grew up around C4's in the '80's and I've always liked the style more so than the C5's and C6's.
Other than all that nonsense, I'm an Iraq war Army veteran who was WIA in 2003, about to graduate from nursing school, father of two, and I love working on cars. Other than that, thanks for reading my book.

First, thank you for your service to our country. :patriot: :patriot: :patriot:
Second, congratulations on your Vette. Although it may take many hours and a few bucks to get it to the shape you want it, it will be worth it when you are done.
Third, welcome to SmokinVette.

Welcome Rob and I hope this is just the first of many Corvettes in your life. I bought my first Vette shortly after my service also and I still have many great memories of all of them since them. I also salute you for your service and just remember to save the wave.:patriot:
You are going to find this site to be a great place to share information and meet some pretty great guys and girls. Just be sure to share some pictures of your car when you are eligible and let's see your work as you whip it into shape.
