I am new to owning a CORVETTE. Ive been wanting one since Jr High. Now in in my 40's and settled down. The kids are teens, Dad finally gets his toy. I have owned FIREBIRDS, CAMARO'S, SUPRA'S, Z-CARS, but the ride of a Corvette is something to get use to. The closeness to the ground and the superwide tires give you the feel of the road. Is this the way it is? I'm keeping my Dreamcar no matter what

Congrats on your new ride! That is the nature of the Vette, it was engineered to be a true sports car, with that in mind, there is no greater feeling than being so close to the asphalt, wide wheel base and a tight suspension to remind you what driving is about!

I've been fortunate enough to have driven some of the newer vette's (Z06, etc.) when I worked for GM, and needless to say the ride has improved dramatically over the years. I just purchased an '89' and once I put new tires on all around, the ride improved quite a bit. Nothing like the quick response and low to the ground that you get no matter what vette you have....enjoy....
