Tyre ‘Sling’

As you drive the tyres rotate and the inertia can cause tyre dressing to ‘sling’. This can be caused by (a) applying the product to an improperly cleaned surface, to which it cannot adhere too. The preparation of the surface is the cause of this problem not the product (b) and / or an excess of product. Remedy- after the dressing has penetrated remove any excess.

This is often a problem with solvent-based silicone dressings (Dimethalsilicone or DMS) usually a clear greasy liquid, this type of oil they does not dry easily, and if it attaches and dries on a paint surface it will dye / cause a stain that is almost impossible to remove. Remedy- use a water-based product

Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ - a water-based dressing that cleans, restores and protects. Produces a temperature-resistant seal and a low-shine satin finish that is dust-resistant, that will not sling and it retards the fading effects of UV rays Petroleum-free, water-based formula is approved for use by tire manufacturers and is patented for its superior long-term protective properties and wash- and weather-resistant features that prevent streaking and loss of UV protection. Zanio Store

Alternative product - 1Z (Einszett) Vinyl Rubber Care and Protectant, water based and provides UV protection and a matte satin finish

Proper Cleaning of the tire is in order so the Tire Dressing doesn't sling at all. Blackfire Long Lasting Tire Gel is a great product for tires.

I am going to look into these products, everything that I use came from an auto store and it really just sucks!

Cleaning the tires good will make a big difference in how black and how the tire dressing sticks to it.

About once per month I will go to the coin operated car wash place and use their high pressure sprayers to clean the tires. I don't spray the wheels, just tires alone and the wheel wells.

Then by the time I get home wheels are all dry and then I put the dressing on. :thumbsup3:
