Does the throttle body make the car respond quicker? My 01 seems a little slugish compaired to my 1980. What whould you guys recommend for a faster throttle responce? I have no upgrades at all on this car.

Cold air intake, Cat back exhaust. This will significantly help. A ported throttle body wil help too, but only after you've done these mods will it have a decent effect.

It's known as a "supporting mod" because the intake "system" is only as good as it's weakest link. for stock intakes, the forward (filter portion) is often the weakest point, followed by the airbridge and then MAF sensor and thorttle body.

Will this help? Also would a factor z06 catback exhaust help?

The ZO6 cat back will help, but until you upgrade the OEM intake to a true CAI, the effects of a ported or aftermarket throttle body will be minimal.

by cat back you mean leave my cats on and replace back from there?

correct, this usually means leaving the H or X pipe as well. Most aftermarket exhaust systems replace just the mufflers and a small amount of pipe that goes over the rear axle.

Thanks radioflyer! I am fairly new to the terminology. I am looking for a Cheaper way of getting a good sounding LS1 without spending 12-15 hundred on exhaust. I am on a limited budget right now. Economy is still sucking around me. It is stock and sounds pitiful for a vette. I mean come on!! It's a vette!!

ZO6 Ti exhaust is a slight sound improvement with much better flow. They are your least expensive alternative:

Here's one for $400 + $85 shipping

Your next best option is a non top-brand exhaust. This version is a virtual copy of the Borla Stinger system but half the price. (plus it comes with pro-style double wall tips) ($650 w/ free shipping) I believe it's built by stainless works but i'm not sure.

Cold air intake, catback and new plugs & wires should wake her up. But if it feels 'slugish' compaired to a 1980 then there is something else wrong. I owned a few C3's and a C2 and drove a C1 & C4. My C5 will blow them all away the C4 being the closest. :burnout:
