Chances are the later upper-end models(V1, 9500) will perform much better, but the middle of the line will perform the same. Radar jammers, however, are illegal. I believe what you are referring to is a LASER jammer, which is an entirely different unit than a radar detector, and should be used in conjunction with a radar detector. The basic idea is to use the detector to detect the presence of laser and slow down to a safe speed while the jammer keeps your speed off the gun.
