Any info on when we can expect to see an C7? Given the state of GM, is it even going to happen?

I've been hearing 2012, obviously we'll see what happes with all the current drama.

Hopefully "they'll" get with the program and we'll be seeing the C7 soon!

They said it would be here in 2012 when they revealed their future outlooks a few weeks ago. I hope they can make it, because I'm gonna need a car about then...;)

It will come out in 2012 as a 2013 model.

They never said it would be out Fall of '06...In fact, they didn't even approve the project until then. GM quoted spring '09 from then on....and made it!

2012, here I come! :D

Any discussion/rumors on the C7 Vette with a split window in '13? I have been hearing rumors. They say with backup cameras and navigation systems the center post would not be a problem.
If they do I will have to have one (to match my '63 split window)
Only time will tell.

I'm sure they will come out with one. The stopped production on the Camero and brought it back. I can't see them not revising their jewel in their crown. When this happens, I don't know. :(

it will most likely be a few more years look how long C4 ran,a whole lot of money to retool factory in todays world

I don't think the C6 will have that longevity. I think with the C7 concept being recently in the movies, similar to the Camaro before its debut, we will see it soon.

Car & Driver speculates it will be a small block with much less HP.

They can speculate all they want but it likely will have every bit of what the new Camaro V8's have, plus some since its the higher end car, a Vette. You can bet a base coupe will be around $10k more than the current model base price. I wouldn't worry about HP being an issue anyway, since each model of Vette builds off the last in style, performance, and HP.

The C7 will have a new smaller displacement direct injection V8 small block with the performance of today's LS3 that will meet future MPG and emissions expectations.
The Chassis will largely be a hold over from the C6. The body will include the split window with a rear view camera to improve rear vision.
The sharply chiseled lines of the prototype will be softened a bit in the final production car.
It is not expected to go on sale until 2014
