Hi,

We have opportunity to get a good price on a 1978 C3 that needs alot of work. The car will be bought has a winter project. The question is how readly available are C3 parts? How are the prices? Are there savage yards for Corvettes?

Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

The parts are out there.
Just depends on what you plan doing with the car.
Restore, race, show, just drive and how much money do you want to spend.
I have around 15K invested :smack: but I done all the work.

was not a great year, but there are several place to purchase both used and new parts for that model. actually with most vettes, parts are easy to find. as far as prices, my current resto project is getting pricey. the nickel and dimes are adding up. a co-worker of mine is also restoring a vehicle, (70 mustang). his prices are about 1/3 of what the prices are for any vette, any part. i'm glad for him, but that suks for us vette owners!

There are alot of us 78 owners who would beg to differ with you.

There are tons of parts out there. Do a search for Ecklers, Mid America, Corvette America, Paragon, Zip Products, Corvette Central, Vette Brakes and Products, Willcox, to name just a few.

After posting the above reply I noticed that on the left toolbar of the website, most of the companies I mentioned are sponsors with links here on the website.

Not a great year :bs: 78 was a very good year,it was the 25th anniversary year, and out of all of the other rubber bumper vettes 78 holds a higher value, not to mention this is the year the fast back glass came back and the hp ratings started going back up.

As far as the OP question about parts and availability,i have no problem getting parts for mine

Hello
The 1978 is not the best car to restore at this time. But if it is a 1978 Pace Car it would be a great car to restore it has a special V.I.N that is pace car only. Unlike the 25th Anniversary V.I.N. is the same as a plane 78 vette. But if you like the car make it your own.
