I'm looking at a 2003 with 91,000 miles? What sort of problems do these cars have with high miles? I have driven the car and doesn't seem to have many serious problems that I can see. The seller has told me that the car does burn a little oil? I can see it needs new tires. What sort of head aches do these cars have as they turn 100,000 miles? Appreciate any sort of advice

I would guess that it will have to do with how it was driven and how often the oil was changed. Does this person have the records showing the maintenance?

Typically when customers bring cars to us to check out before they buy them we'll do a complete visual inspection. Check the brakes, suspension, perform a leak down test on the motor, etc. I'd recommend bringing it to a local automotive shop or dealer and have them look over the car. Typically we'd charge $100-300 but we can find hidden flaws easier than you might be able to.

I agree with David in that you should take it to a mechanic that you trust and have them go over it with a fine tooth comb!:iagree:

I bought mine when it had almost 80k on it and I took it to my local dealer and they were kind enough to look it over and I have since put almost 30k on it and not one problem!:)

Thanks everyone, I'm going to see if they are open to me getting the car checked out. I'm sure the will understand, if they don't then I have my answer also.

They better be open to getting the car checked out or you can go to someone else's Vette!! If they have nothing to hide then they will have no problem with letting someone look at it!!

If Vette is messed up, and if you open to working on it, offer super low price and save some $$ and fix it up yourself!

A 03 with that many miles what you think would be a good price then? Well I guess it has to do with how messed up it is? I'm going to get the car checked out here in next day or so and will post what I find.

Have the car checked out first, then get a good tune up, take care of the car and it was last. Now on the other hand you get out there and beat the car, then you could face some problems with high milage car.

I bought my 2004 with 104,000 miles on it earlier this year, and decided to just rebuild the car. I got a really good price on the car, but bought it knowing that I was going to rebuild it. There is always a trade off?

The car checked out at the mechanics, minor things needed to be replaced/repaired on the car, got the seller to drop the price further and proud to say I'm offially a Vette owner! thanks for all the help you all, great people in my book!
